Worship is more than something we do formally on Sundays.  Unlike most words and concepts, worship is not something that can be defined by one or two sentences. It is so much deeper than words, and so much broader than a couple of sentences. Worship is something that is personal but yet needs to be shared with everyone around. It’s something that starts on the inside and which is then expressed on the outside. It’s much more real than just a feeling--it’s a lifestyle. It’s much more diverse than just songs, yet all the same in its purpose. It gives you a sense of awe while making you feel comfortable at the same time. It renews your soul yet leaves you thirsting for more.

Although worship is so broad, one way to participate in worship is through the church. Some of you may be wondering what our worship is like here at Trinity CRC, which is why you probably stumbled upon this page. When looking at many different churches and comparing each one, many times the first thing we look at is the worship portion of the service. Here at Trinity, we believe that it is a faulty title given to the time of praise and worship in song. As it is written in Romans 12:1, Paul urges us to “offer our bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God-which is your spiritual worship.” This verse reminds us that EVERY part of our lives should be an act of worship to God.

Although we are supposed to offer our personal worship to God in every aspect of our life, fellowshipping with other believers allows us to participate in the corporate worship which God has established through the Church. The congregation at Trinity is composed of all ages. Along with all these generations represented come many different worship styles and preferences. Since everyone has their own way of worshipping God and drawing near to Him, and since the goal of worship on Sunday is to help each individual connect with God, we believe it is important to try to incorporate the many different flavors of worship. For some, this may be the hymns that have been sung for hundreds of years while as others may prefer the contemporary songs. Some prefer the sound of the organ while others like the sound of the drums. Our goal is to try to obtain a balanced mix of all these styles of worship, remembering that there is not only one way to worship God. In every worship service, it is our prayer that the time spent here will be effective in leading God’s people into the presence of God Himself.
