We often believe that our greatest problems in life are the sufferings that we experience, but Mark teaches us in his Gospel, through the story of the healing of the paralytic, that our major problem is really our sinfulness, because all sin is ultimately against God. That Jesus could effect forgiveness for us was no easy thing. It involved incredible pain and suffering.
