Geoff and Tammy Kooistra met in 1992 at MIchigan Technological University where Geoff was studying for an engineering degree and Tammy for a technical degree.  They were married on November 26, 1994 and left for the mission field with HCJB Global in 1997.  All three of their children were born in Quito, Ecuador.  Jacob is age 12, Emma is 11, and Sara is 7.  Tammy is a daughter of our congregation.

God called the Kooistra's into mission while they were still in college.  Geoff had participated in a short-term mission trip to an inner-city church where he helped run day camps for children.  This experience convinced him that he wanted to go into missions long-term.

Through the advice of Christian leaders, they were encouraged to look for an overseas mission opportunity and found HCJB Global to be an agency that needed their engineering skills.

HCJB Global strongly believes in using the radio as a tool to spread the good news of Jesus Christ around the globe.  Through radio planting and development, HCJB Global also seeks to empower and mobilize local radio stations to make a difference within their communities.
