The XYZ group does not take a vacation in the summer. Some may say “you’re retired, so every day is a vacation for you.” Not so, my friend. We are a very active group!

On June 11 we journeyed to the Master Arts Theater to enjoy the delightfully comic play, “Arsenic and Old Lace.” The theater is small so we all had choice seats. After the play we trekked to Russ’ for the supper of our choice. This was an excellent way to spend a Saturday afternoon!

  On August 2 we had plans to go to Holland for a picnic supper and enjoy the band concert, but the dark clouds threatened and we remembered our situation a few years ago. Although it was a hilarious experience, we decided not to try it again.

Our caterer was gracious enough to change the direction of his delivery and we had an indoor picnic at church. Afterwards we played a few fun games, sang a few songs and enjoyed a very pleasant evening.

By the way, the rain did come just after we finished our meal, we were thankful!
