The brochure the XYZ Club received from the Evergreen Commons described their Christmas Program as follows:  “Celebrate the season with an elegant event featuring delicious food and delightful entertainment.”  And this description proved to be very accurate!

On December 10th, forty three of our XYZers left Trinity, thanks to all the drivers who generously drove!  The Evergreen Chorale is under the direction of Calvin Langejans and consists of 100 members!

     “O, what fun it is to ride in the church bus, singing all the way”

              “Here, sit by me”

                           “Everybody buckled?”

                                         “When will we get there?”

     That was some of what we heard as the Trinity Friendship Club loaded the church bus and headed out to the annual Festival of Lights at Calvary Church on December 1.  We were packed to the gills with standing room only in the church bus while some of the Friendship mentors drove in a second car, and even some of our students rode in their Adult Foster Care (AFC) van.  We were excited and ready to see a Christmas show...

Our church bus provides transportation for many groups in our congregation.  The Cadets and GEMS clubs use it to travel to outings and ministry opportunities.  On Sundays we provide transportation to and from worship for retirees and others who find it difficult to attend worship unless they are picked up and dropped off back at home again.  Youth groups, Life Groups, Friendship Group and others find that the church bus creates community as we travel to and from events together.  

Please call the church office and find out if we can assist in picking you or someone you know up for worship activities.

Dodge ball, soccer, basketball video games until 2:30 in the morning, loud music, games, chaos, lack of sleep and a messy church.  Sounds like what you might expect from teenagers. Boarded up windows, unkempt lawns, abandoned houses, garbage and stray animals.  This might be what you would expect in the hood of Detroit.  Worship, communication, relationships, bonding, service, work, a mission and a vision.  These are some of the many things that we often neglect to report...
