Several months ago Pastor Gerry and several other members of Trinity began formulating what we would like Trinity’s new website to include.  How can we use this tool to share the Good News and facilitate the discipling of the reader?  We’ve been working diligently to create a place on the worldwide web for Trinity that is both user friendly and helpful with the kind of information people want.  When looking at our target audience, we pondered how we could serve two distinct groups:  those who are of the Trinity family and those who are unfamiliar with Trinity.  How do we want Trinity to appear to those unfamiliar with church?  What kind of message do we want to send?  How can we show Trinity to be a body of believers and not just a building?  What kind of information do our members want and need on the website? We had a very special task ahead of us!

A basic framework has been formed.  Our home page features several brief articles introducing Trinity.  Our menu includes sections on Who We Are (Our Vision, Our Location and Contact Info, Our Staff, and Our Building Use Policy), Worship (Our Understanding of Worship and Our Service Times), and Ministries (Sunday Morning—Nursery, Children in Worship, Sunday School; Wednesday Evening—YO Kids, Cadets, GEMS, GROW, and Friendship;  Small Groups—ROCK, Impact, XYZ, Life Groups, and Prayer Ministry).  The Serving Others section showcases our involvement in service.  This section is divided between serving others Globally and Locally.  The Globally section lists our activity in other parts of the world and the country where we have a missionary presence.  A brief, missionary-approved message appears here which describes their work.  The Locally section is divided into Rev. Mark Milkamp, Food Pantry, Community Picnics & Concerts, Rosedale Partnership, Kid’s Hope, Care of Creation (Stream Team and Community Garden), and Other Ways We Serve.   The Media Section is where bulletins, newsletters, and sermons can be found.  Newsletter articles relating to a specific ministry (like Cadets) will appear here as well as on their own ministry page (i.e. Cadets).  The sermons can be searched by teacher, book of the Bible, sermon series, or date.  While listening to the sermon, the text of the Bible can be viewed as well as the Prezi Presentation (like PowerPoint) viewed (if available).  The Members Area is where a member can seek membership to the website (apply through the website to the church office) and will then have access to more extensive missionary articles, specific prayer requests, and the church directory.

We hope that this new website will be user friendly and include the information that you need and want.  If you have any ideas of what other information you’d like to appear on our website please bring it to Sally for our consideration.

We will be continually updating and changing the content on our website.  In doing so, we plan to include many pictures.  We will never include names with the pictures and we will seek permission from the parents of a photo of a minor (under 18).  For adults, please contact Sally in the office if you do not want your picture included in our website.  Our website can be found at www.trinity-crc.org.  Go ahead and take a peek, we don’t bite.
